- July 14, 2020: In order to give the CHIIR 2020 paper authors an opportunity to interact with the community, we have organized a Virtual CHIIR 2020 event, which will be held on August 13 and 14, 2020. Instructions for Presenters & Session Chairs
In order to help our presenters to prepare for their time at CHIIR 2020, we have complied a list of technical information. Please review the relevant parts of the information below.
For perspective and long paper presentations
- The paper sessions will be held on Sunday March 15, 2020–Tuesday March 17, 2020; please consult the schedule
- Each oral presentation is allocated 20 minutes, plus 5 minutes for questions
- Presenters will be expected to use their own computers for the presentation
- Connection to the projector is via HDMI and VGA; presenters are responsible for all necessary converters
- The projector supports a maximum resolution of 4:3
- Presenters should prepare their presentations in widescreen (16:9 aspect ratio) format
For short paper (poster) presentations
- The poster session will be held on Sunday March 15, 2020 from 5:30–8:00 PM
- There will be four posters assigned to each 8 x 4 foot poster board (2 front, 2 back)
- Your poster should not exceed 3 feet wide by 4 feet tall
- Thumbtacks will be provided
- One author for each accepted short paper should prepare a two-slides/one-minute talk for the Poster Boaster session (Sunday March 15 from 4:15–5:15 PM)
For demo/resource presentations
- The demo and resource sessions will be held concurrently with the poster session; all items listed above apply, except there will be two posters per poster board (one-sided)
- Presenters will be expected to use their own computers for the demonstrations
- A table and power outlet will be provided
For session chairs
- One session chair will be assigned to each paper presentation session
- Session chairs are responsible for ensuring that the oral presentations end on time (20 minutes), and for moderating the 5-minute question session
- Time cards will be provided to give authors cues for the time remaining
- Session chairs should be present in the room 10 minutes before the session to confirm that all presenters are ready and that they know the time limits
- Technical support will be available in case there is a problem with the projector
- Student volunteers with assist session chairs by circulating handheld microphones during the Q&A
