SIGIR Futures is a new ACM SIGIR program to catalyze ambitious efforts that envision and shape the future of IR research and practice.

We established the SIGIR Academy to honor and recognize individuals who have made significant, cumulative contributions to the development of the field of information retrieval (IR).

This new award recognizes outstanding contributions and leadership to the SIGIR community in research, community engagement, and/or diversity, equity, and inclusion by an early career researcher (ECR).
