Women-in-IR (WIR) is organising a dedicated event at ACM SIGIR 2026, which will take place in Melbourne, Australia, from July 20th to July 24th, 2026. The WIR event is planned for Wednesday, July 22nd. All participants to SIGIR 2026 (not women only!) are warmly invited to attend.
The WIR event will consist of a poster session (like the one organised at SIGIR 2025 in Padova) that aims to provide a platform for women participants at all stages of their careers to synthetically present their research interests and share their career paths. A standardized poster template is provided (the poster format is A1) to ensure a consistent presentation format.
The poster session will take place on Wednesday during lunch time and will offer an opportunity to talk to experienced researchers (from both Academia and Industry), who will provide their experience as well as suggestions for career path development.
We encourage all women in IR to:
- Complete this form to confirm participation in the poster event (deadline: May 30th, 2026).
- Prepare a poster using the provided A1 template.
- Print the poster and bring it to the conference.
Please note that presenting a poster is optional. You are very welcome to participate in the event in any case!
