Some Ideas for Family Fun in Dublin!



Children’s Multi Sports Camps at Trinity College
Children’s multi sports camps run throughout the summer and include lots of fun and challenging sports both indoors and outdoors. Camp activities include climbing, swimming, trampolining, tag rugby, basketball, football, tennis, rounders, athletics, gaelic games and many more. Camps are suitable for children aged 4 – 13years and run from 9.30am - 4.30pm. You can avail of pre & post camp care from 8.30am-5.30pm at an additional charge. Camp dates are listed below;

July Monday 29th July – Friday 2nd August

Cost Camp: €147 per child per week Pre & Post camp care: €42 per child per week Trinity College offer a camp discount for siblings at €5 per child per camp

The Old Library and the Book of Kells Book of Exhibition, Trinity College Dublin
A “must see” on the itinerary of all visitors to Dublin. Located in the heart of Dublin City, a walk through the cobbled stones of Trinity College Dublin will bring visitors back to the 18th century, when the magnificent Old Library building was constructed. Inside is housed the Book of Kells - a 9th-century gospel manuscript famous throughout the world.

The Book of Kells is open from 9.30am daily.

The Natural History Museum, Merrion Square, Dublin 2 (Walking distance from Trinity College Dublin)
The National Museum of Ireland - Natural History exhibits galleries of animals from Ireland and overseas, also geological exhibits from a total collection of about 2 million scientific specimens. Children will be amazed as soon as they walk in the entrance of this unique Museum. And we're pretty sure that parents will enjoy it too!

Open times: Tuesday to Saturday 10am-5pm or Sunday 2pm- 5pm.

Dublin City Gallery – The Hugh Lane, Parnell Square North, Dublin 1, (Walking distance from Trinity College Dublin)
Dublin City Gallery The Hugh Lane is a gallery of modern art and has a fantastic collection of works by artists such as Claude Monet, Auguste Renoir, Edgar Degas and Jack B. Yeats. Have you ever seen a couch made with thousands of hairclips, oil paint squeezed onto a canvas in thick colourful blobs or one of the smallest horses in the world? Well, you can at Dublin City Gallery The Hugh Lane.

The Science Gallery- The Naughton Institute, Pearse Street, Trinity College Dublin
The Science Gallery is a place where science and art collide is a world first. A new type of venue where today's white-hot scientific issues are thrashed out and you can have your say; it is ranked as amongst the top ten free cultural attractions in Ireland. Throughout each exhibition, there are events, talks, debates and workshops, giving you a chance to get involved. Exhibitions are free and so are some events.

Dublin Zoo - Phoenix Park, Dublin

Located on the north side of Dublin Bay Howth is served by the DART suburban rail system and Dublin Bus. Howth is a popular tourist destination with excellent views across Dublin Bay, including the best places to eat and drink and scenic Coastal Hill Walks. Howth has a wealth of history, literature and historical monuments waiting to explore such as Howth Castle, Baily Lighthouse, the Museum of vintage radio and the National Transport Museum.

Dundrum Town Centre, South Dublin, Dublin 14
Dundrum Town Centre is Ireland's biggest and best centre for shopping (with over 169 stores), restaurants, movies and theatre. Dundrum Town Centre is approximately 15 minutes on the Luas Green Line (at St Stephens Green). Exit the Luas at the “Balally” stop which is only a few minutes walk (estimated time: 5 minutes) from the Town centre.
