August 8 – Jon Kleinberg

Jon Kleinberg is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science at
Cornell University. His research interests are centered around
algorithmic issues at the interface of networks and information, with an
emphasis on the social and information networks that underpin the Web
and other on-line media. He is the recipient of an NSF Career Award, an
ONR Young Investigator Award, a John D. and Catherine T.
MacArthur Foundation Fellowship, a David and Lucile Packard Foundation
Fellowship, an Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Fellowship, teaching awards
from the Cornell Engineering College and Computer Science Department,
and the 2001 National Academy of Sciences Award for Initiatives in
Research.
August 9 – Radha Radhakrishnan

As vice president of Computing & Network Operations in Boeing Information Technology, Radha Radhakrishnan is responsible for Boeing's national and international information technology infrastructure. This includes computing and network technology design, standards and services; data center and distributed computing operations; data, voice and video communications; messaging and web services; and desktop computing technology.
Prior to this assignment Radha has held many management positions, the most recent being vice president of Systems Engineering, Integration & Architecture function for the Boeing Information Technology group.
Prior to that, Radha was the director of Southwest Regional
Operations - Computing and Network Operations. Prior to that, Radha was the director of Information Technology for both Launch & Satellite System business units and Boeing Satellite Systems, Inc. (BSS), formerly known as Hughes Space and Communications Company (HSC), the world's leading supplier of commercial communications satellites and a major supplier of space systems to the U.S. government. In that assignment, Radha was responsible for computing and communications infrastructure, enterprise computing applications, business and program-unique Information Systems (IS) requirements, Information Technology infusion, and IS outsource management.
Between May 1998 and October 2000, Radha held the position of the Vice President & Chief Information Officer for Hughes Space and Communication group, responsible for providing computing infrastructure including hardware, software, tools, and skills. In addition, he was also the Corporate VP & CIO for Hughes Electronics Corporation, responsible for setting Information Systems strategies, standards, and policies that supported Hughes business strategies.
Prior to joining Hughes Electronics Corporation, Radha spent over twelve years at Rockwell/Boeing, advancing through several management positions within the Information Technology group. He joined Rockwell in 1985 as manager of Information Systems, was promoted to director of Systems Development, and then was the divisions director of Information Systems from 1993 to 1998. Prior to that he was manager of automation and corporate strategic planning coordinator with Kinetics Technology International, where he provided computing services to the engineering company's European and U.S. Headquarters. Earlier in his career he served as senior technical advisor for ADP Network Services in Europe, where he provided consulting services to multinational customers in the use of computerized financial management and strategic planning tools.
Radhakrishnan earned his Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering in 1971 at the University of Madurai, India. He earned a Master of Science degree in management science in 1978 from the Stevens Institute of Technology, Hoboken, New Jersey.
Radhakrishnan won the Enterprise Value Award from CIO magazine in 1995 for spearheading the design and development of a state-of-the-art electronic document storage retrieval system, which is now the standard for NASA's space shuttle program. He is a member of the Southern California chapter of the Society of Information Management. He has published papers on consolidated financial reporting systems.
Born in India on July 10, 1950, he now lives in La Palma, Calif., with his wife, Usha, and their daughter, also a Boeing employee. Radhakrishnan enjoys reading, listening to Indian classical music, and walking.
