Venue & Accommodations
The conference site and conference hotel will be at the newly constructed Hampton Inn and Suites Chapel Hill-Carrboro. This hotel is centrally located in the heart of Chapel Hill-Carrboro and is in easy walking distance to the UNC campus and a large variety of shops, restaurants, bars and walking trails giving attendees the ability to explore and relax during their free time. Over forty bars and restaurants are within walking distance.
The doctoral consortium, tutorials, and workshops will be held at the School of Information and Library Science at University of North Carolina, an easy one-mile walk from the conference hotel. The conference hotel is on a free public bus line, which can also transport attendees to the university.

Conference hotel booking
Guest rooms at the Hampton Inn and Suites Chapel Hill-Carrboro feature complimentary Wifi, a hot breakfast in the morning, and access to a state-of-the-art fitness center.
Hampton Inn & Suites Chapel Hill-Carrboro ($134/night)
A block of rooms have been reserved for CHIIR attendees at a discount rate of $134 per night (plus tax) (these rooms have two Queen size beds). Reservations can be booked online or by calling the hotel (+1-919-904-7713) and providing the group name "CHIIR Conference" and the group code "LSC".
Please make these reservations as soon as possible. The discounted rate expires on January 26, 2016.
Other hotel options
There are a number of additional hotels available either within walking distance of the conference hotel, or a short shuttle ride. The Franklin and Carolina Inn offer the most expensive and luxurious options. The Quality Inn and Holiday Inn are part of the conference hotel's suite of hotels and are offered at discount rates to CHIIR attendees. The Quality Inn, in particular, offers a very inexpensive option for students and those on a budget at $61 per night (plus tax). Shuttles to and from these hotels and the conference hotel are free of charge. All these hotels are on the main (free) bus line.

To book the Quality Inn at the conference rate ($61/night plus tax), you will need to call the hotel directly (+1-919-968-3000), using the group name "CHIIR Conference" and the group code "LSC". Bookings made through the hotel's website will not have the discounted rate.
To book the Holiday Inn at the conference rate ($104/night plus tax), make a reservation online using the group code "LSC". Booking through this link will pre-apply that group code.
