Student Volunteer Applications
Full-time students at any level (graduate or undergraduate students) may apply to be volunteers at CHIIR. Volunteers will work several shifts per day during the conference and at conference workshops. In return, volunteers will have their conference registration fees paid.
To apply, fill out a student volunteer application form.
The application period opens on October 30, 2015. Applications must be submitted by 11:59 EST on December 15, 2015.
How are volunteers selected?
Volunteers will be selected based on a variety of criteria, including financial need.
Volunteers must be full-time students.
Volunteers must commit to attending an orientation event on March 13, 2016, before the main conference begins, and to staying throughout the conference duration.
What kind of work will volunteers be asked to do?
No special knowledge or skills are required to be a volunteer.
Volunteers might be asked to:
- Provide general assistance during conference sessions (helping with setup, facilitating questions, locating technical support when necessary, and so on).
- Assist at the conference registration desk.
- Prepare conference materials for distribution.
- Answer questions and provide directions between venues.
Who should I contact with additional questions?
Contact Kathy Brennan with additional questions about the student volunteer application process.
